چکیده

AIM: The aim of the present study was to assess neurological sequelae within 30 days surgical or cardiac catheter interventions in infants and children.
METHOD: In this cross-sectional study, we evaluated all patients who developed problems after either by surgery clinical evaluation, brain imaging, electrophysiological studies.
RESULTS: Among 1200 procedures were performed; 895 (74.6%) catheterizations diagnostic intervention, 167 (13.9%) open-heart surgery, 138 (11.5%) closed heart surgery. overall incidence post-procedure dysfunction studied population 3.4%. differences between three groups statistically significant (p < 0.0001(. our series, complications form disturbed conscious level 2/41 (4.9%), impaired motor function 11/41 (26.8%), mental functions 6/41(14.6%), hyperreflexia 27/41 (65.9%), seizures 38/41 (92.7%). most common presentation focal fits 21/41 (51.2%), followed generalized 15/41(36.6%) then myoclonic (4.9%).

Pediatric cardiac interventions.

The field of pediatric cardiac interventions has witnessed a dramatic increase in the number and type of procedures performed. We review the most common procedures performed in the catheter laboratory. Lesions are divided according to their physiological characteristics into left-to-right shunting lesions (atrial septal defect, patent ductus arteriosus, ventricular septal defect), right-to-left...
